Поликультурность студентов в условиях современного образования как основа позитивных межкультурных взаимоотношений
The article analyzes the level of multiculturalism among college students and the characteristics of interethnic interaction in groups with Kazakh- and Russian-medium instruction. The purpose of the study is to identify students’ attitudes toward representatives of other ethnic groups and to determine the barriers to the formation of a multicultural educational environment. The research methods include an analysis of scholarly literature and a questionnaire survey. The results demonstrate a predominance of positive attitudes, tolerance, and a well-formed ethnic identity among students, as well as a strong sense of pride in the multinational character of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time, differences in the intensity of interethnic contacts, isolated manifestations of intolerance, language barriers, and an insufficient understanding of the concept of multiculturalism were identified. The study concludes that there is a need for the purposeful development of multicultural competence, bilingualism, and intercultural dialogue in the student environment.
